Cox is right choice for Lacey

Carolyn Cox is the right choice for Lacey City Council. She has proven that by her work on the Lacey Planning Commission, rising to vice-chair in her first term, and elected as chair by her peers in January. She has gained considerable knowledge about how the city works and challenges that lie ahead. She displays intellectual curiosity, grasps complex detail and asks good questions. Her campaign is forward looking, addressing quality of life and environmental protections.

Through her work on the Planning Commission and Thurston County Boundary Review Board she has prepared well for Council service. She could step in and be effective from day one.

Carolyn listens, weighs evidence and votes in the best interest of the community. She listened to Panorama residents who testified at a public hearing that plans to build a paved thoroughfare along Chambers Lake would destroy a popular nature trail and open their neighborhood to more through-traffic, creating a safety hazard for pedestrians.

Carolyn has a clear vision: she is forward-thinking, looking to maintain Lacey’s quality of life as the city grows. She has a strong environmental ethic, supports enhanced public transit, and efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

She believes the city needs to join with Olympia, Tumwater and Thurston County to compassionately address the needs of our homeless residents with a comprehensive set of services. Above all, Carolyn is compassionate, thoughtful, reflective, and a steady presence in deliberations on issues. She deserves a yes vote Nov. 7 for Lacey City Council.
