College president is a dead whale job
Despite a lot of criticism, George Bridges is doing a very good job as president at The Evergreen State College.
I know. I began my academic career as a professor in a classroom and ended as a president in a corner office. On the way, I thought I was climbing the ladder to the top. But when I got there, I discovered I was in the basement. It was then I learned the truth: The president of a college has a dead whale job. Nearly everything that crosses the desk is huge and it stinks to high heaven.
George, you are doing a hell of a good job riding your dead whale through the surf.
