Perversion of the 2nd Amendment

The words of the 2nd Amendment have been perverted and used by the arms lobby and an overwhelming number of gun owners who want unfettered access to firearms. How many victims in Las Vegas would have been hit by any means other than guns? This isn’t just a matter of mental imbalance. Nearly everyone is sane until they aren’t.

It is well beyond time that those who are so enamored of the 2nd Amendment really read it and understand the key words “well regulated Militia.” Sorry fellas, but your personal arsenal doesn’t qualify as well regulated or a Militia.

It is well beyond time our politicians stop taking campaign contributions from the arms lobby. Aren’t human lives worth more than a political contribution or a vote? Do you see the absurdity of anyone, anywhere in this country being able to own just about any manner of and number of firearms? Now Congress is actually moving toward voting on legalizing silencers! Why? There is no cogent reason. And what comes after that?

This mother and grandmother is out of patience for our failure as a nation to come to our collective senses and deal with this insanity. If you are as outraged as I am, call your state and federal legislators and demand action now. The Declaration of Independence grants us “certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” These rights don’t mean much if someone has been the victim of someone’s “2nd Amendment right.”
