No simplification from this tax bill
On Nov. 17, I attended the 23rd annual IRS Working Together Symposium in Seattle. No tax attorney, EA, CPA or tax preparer need to be worried about employment if the proposed tax bill passes. While a few provisions are genuine simplifications, both the House and Senate versions of tax reform create new complications — go read the sections on taxation of “business income” — which assure that the grand tradition of an ever more complex tax code will carry on.
