It’s the Constitution, Bob
God bless veteran Bob Stone of Shelton and all veterans for their service and sacrifices. But I must disagree with veteran Stone’s assertion that “because of the flag I can vote, speak, write, and think what I want.”
Bob, the flag is a symbol of the United States, and icon, if you will. It’s our Constitution that gives these freedoms, not the flag, which is the symbol of this country and these freedoms. That wonderful Constitution provides the right to protest against the flag as part of the “speak and write what I want with out fear, and the right to stop watching NFL games for whatever reason.”
Players protesting during the National Anthem are protected by that Constitution, and I thank God for that.
