We are changing the climate
The temperature is rising worldwide. There are more extreme weather events. More powerful hurricanes, hotter hot days. Less cold days.
We know that carbon dioxide is created when we burn fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas). We know that it stays in the atmosphere a long time. We know that carbon dioxide is a heat-trapping gas. We know how much CO2 we are adding to the environment: 110 million tons every 24 hours. We know that the levels of carbon dioxide currently in the atmosphere are at record levels.
We know what needs to be done. Stop burning fossil fuels as soon as possible.
We need to rise up to the corporate powers that will destroy our future for profits now. They are spreading doubt where there should be none. What has to happen is that known reserves of fossil fuels need to stay in the ground. Trillions of dollars of value. That won’t happen without a fight.
