‘Deficit hawk’ title proves to be bunk

Well, we have a new tax reform program passed exclusively by Republicans. The new tax reform will increase the federal deficit by over a trillion dollars. So much for Senate and House chairmen Ryan and McConnell and their long history of being proud outspoken “deficit hawks.” That has been exposed as 99.44 percent bunk. Sen. Corker of Tennessee has said (paraphrased here), “I will not vote for a bill that raises the deficit one penny.” He changed his mind and voted for the bill that will raise the deficit by a trillion dollars or more. Don’t be surprised to see Mr. Corker in a cabinet or a high-level staff position sometime soon.

Gotta love these guys.

Meanwhile, the “deficit hawks” endangering their shoulders by slapping each other on the back are ignoring C.H.I.P (Children’s Health Insurance Program). It will run out of money this year. In January 2018, 1.9 million children lose health insurance. By the end of 2018, another 10 million (or more) children will lose health insurance. Trumpcare?

Two famous quotes come to mind: “Let them eat cake” (Marie Antoinette) and “What’s good for General Motors is good for the country.” (Charles Wilson)

So it goes.
