Letters to the Editor

A thank you to St. Peter Hospital

I am writing to thank Providence St. Peter Hospital for their professional and sincere response to a letter I sent to the CEO, Medrice Coluccio, describing a couple of very serious issues my family experienced when our mother was a patient there.

I received numerous letters and phone calls from heads of the departments involved. They not only apologized for the incidents, but they also took actions to change policies and procedures to avoid subjecting patients and their families to similar problems in the future. They even extended the courtesy of asking me for my opinion and suggestions as to possible remedies.

Although the situations we encountered can’t be undone, St. Peter’s management didn’t hesitate in addressing our concerns head on, and they appear to be committed to implementing changes to improve the client experience. This type of response from a corporate entity, particularly one with limited competition, is commendable and much appreciated.

We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Providence Sound Home Care and Hospice. They were flawless in guiding and advising us at a very delicate time. They are truly special people.
