Fight for $15 per hour and secure scheduling

It is time for Olympia to join other cities that raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour. When people are struggling just to make it by on the current minimum wage, you know there is a problem. The minimum wage was based on the cost of living, not the cost of surviving.

Olympia City Council should be leaders. Lead all our local communities for the fight for $15 per hour and secure scheduling. A poll in 2015 showed that 69 percent of Olympians support a $15 minimum wage. The higher minimum wage would be nothing without secure scheduling.

So I urge the public to fight for $15 per hour and secure scheduling here in Olympia, Lacey, and Tumwater. Pressure our public officials to do the right thing for those who are just struggling to make it. It is time for the working class.
