Democrats backing the wrong candidate in commissioner’s race
After studying the credentials and campaigns of Melissa Denton and Tye Menser, I have concluded that Denton is the best candidate and has the best chance to win in November.
Unlike Menser who has planned his run for some time, Denton, a newcomer to politics, is running because she is dissatisfied with the current commissioners’ lack of moral courage and unwillingness to do what’s right with respect to all things that make our county a great place to live.
An attorney and small business owner, she is a critical thinker who believes in making timely, informed, responsible decisions. For over 30 years, she has done so for her legal clients and if elected, she will do the same for the county. Among the candidates, she is the least biased with respect to how the county’s problems should be solved and will collaborate with all parties to find optimal solutions. Given her openness to inclusion, and respect for the views of all Thurston County residents, she is the best choice.
Comparing the candidates’ political views, Denton appears to have the edge when it comes to potentially attracting the votes of the county’s independents. This will matter in November because in order to win, the Democrat challenger will need votes from among this group.
If you are dissatisfied and want to see change, Melissa Denton is the “right” candidate.
