Please vote yes on Intercity Transit Proposition 1

Public transportation is as important to my wife and I as oxygen. Without it we don’t have lives. Please consider that not everyone is physically able to drive a car. If the bus doesn’t operate, we don’t operate. We are unable to get to our jobs, continue our volunteer work, visit family and friends, go out to dinner, see a movie. Things most people take for granted.

We are fortunate to live close enough to roll to a grocery store, unless it snows. Several years ago we had a snow storm where my wife and I were running low on supplies. The world was shut down and I called Intercity Transit and told them our story. They came out in terrible weather and rescued us. These are people with big hearts that are interested in providing the very best of service to everyone in our community.

We are differently-abled and use wheelchairs but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a lot to contribute to this community. My wife and I are afraid we may lose our independence. That we will lose our ability to support ourselves because we can’t get to our jobs. That we’ll lose our medical insurance and our home. That we’ll be forced to leave family, friends and a community we love because it is no longer accessible to us.
