Sad state of our highways

My wife and I just came back from driving to California. Oregon and California are resurfacing their main highways. While driving I-5 in California they were also repairing or building new highway bridges that were considered unsafe.

When coming back into Washington we couldn’t help but notice just how bad our roads and bridges are. If nothing else have you seen how litter filled with trash the sides of our highway are? Also, since it rains a lot in Washington we have drains that allow water to move to a central drain, not anymore the drainage holes are all clogged with trash and grass.

Washington, I believe has the second highest gas tax and a high vehicle registration cost — supposedly for our roads. Governor Inslee and the Director of Transportation what are you doing with our highway dollars?
