I am thankful for my family

It’s November and that means Thanksgiving. This year has been a roller coaster for me. In my family, we go around the table on Thanksgiving and share what we are thankful for. I’ve never really known what to say, but this year I do. I am thankful for my family and all their support with my schooling, my mental health and really just putting up with me.

I know that me and my parents have our ups and downs, but this year I have come to realize how much they actually do for me and how many times they go out of their way to help me. I understand that not everyone has super supportive families and my wish for them is to be able to find peace and a good support system.

Thanksgiving is a time of year to give thanks to the people and things that are there for you. I am thankful for my family. What are you thankful for?

Don’t overrule the will of the people on I-976

Here we go again. The liberal leaders of our cities, counties and state are going against the citizens of the state because I-976 was voted in.

Now those leaders who have wasted millions of dollars by not managing the money that taxpayers have poured into the coffer over the years are crying “We can’t fix our roads and bridges” when they have paid premium prices over the years for projects because of engineers, bad contracts or pouring money out for bike lanes that reduce traffic lanes and cause further traffic congestion.

The engineers and contractors botched the 520 bridge project. Leaking pontoons — the manufacturer should have paid to repair the pontoons but the Washington taxpayers paid millions for the repairs. Unexpected costs added nearly $58 million to the SR-99 tunnel project price.

Why are all of the state’s taxpayers paying for all of the transportation costs (for floating bridges, buses, light rail, ferries, bike lanes, tunnels, etc.) that only benefit those in and around King County area? Let those that use these services pay for those services.

And let’s not forget how much money is being lost at the gas pump because of green energy vehicles. It seems that everything associated with green energy costs the taxpayer more money.

So, our liberal leaders, who have wasted millions, will go to the liberal courts in King and Thurston counties who will overturn the voice of the people so that they can have more money to waste.
