Nation must change to mail-in voting

I have sent a request to the Washington state congressional delegation to work with whomever else in Congress it is necessary to get action on a required national mail-in voting system for at least the next general election. Everyone here will know how we do it in Washington. That can be used as a model.

The system needs to have at least these three components. All registered voters will be mailed a ballot. The mailing will contain a prepaid envelope. All ballots will be mailed out in time for all voting to take place on or before Election Day.

We only need to look at what happened in Wisconsin to understand why this is required. I suggest that all who agree with me send similar requests to Congress.

Bud Blake for Thurston County Commissioner

I am supporting Bud Blake for Thurston County Commissioner District 1. I’ve known Bud for many years, he’s a kind, caring and compassionate man. He served in the U.S. military as a high-ranking officer for many years. He’s a proven leader. Bud listens to everyone’s opinion before making a decision and is able to work with all sides even when they don’t agree.

Bud is running against John Hutchings, who has shown in many ways he’s not the kind of Commissioner Thurston County needs. John is at the forefront of trying to push through a tax increase on the citizens of Thurston County for a new county courthouse. John also has led the charge in moving homeless camps out of downtown Olympia.

We need change in the commissioners’ office.

I enthusiastically support Bud Blake for Thurston County Commissioner District 1. I hope everyone will too.

Too much lunacy

Where to start! The insane protest in Michigan, the South Dakota governor ignoring a glaring problem, the empty threats of a madman in Washington, the ever-growing infections and deaths, the lack of any cohesive, effective plan to fight this pandemic, the burden on our medical profession!

It’s really difficult to fight depression now. Really difficult to fight the fear. I had hoped there would be talk of the 25th Amendment by now, but I’ve been reminded by my better half that Sen. Mitch McConnell still reigns so that’s a useless idea.

I will take solace in now realizing the significance of a competent governor. They will be our salvation.
