Talauna Reed for Olympia City Council

If you’re a low-income renter in Olympia or barely in the middle class with housing rental ballooning up while landlords chase market-rate prices, then Talauna Reed running for Olympia City Council is your candidate.

Like Bernie Sanders and Greta Thunberg, Talauna Reed is not afraid to speak truth to power. Most current council members have been courting and pleasing corporate developers with giveaways at the expense of all Olympia city residents. Talauna, a low-income renter herself, knows what positive changes need to happen for all of Olympia.

The only way the Olympia City Council and city manager will ever reform will be once a representative who cares about and works for housing justice and equity in Olympia has been elected.

Please vote Talauna Reed for Position 5 this November.

Bob Iyall for Port of Olympia

Bob Iyall is a candidate for Port of Olympia. Two candidates will be elected to the Port of Olympia this Nov. 2. Everyone in Thurston County can vote! Please register!

Bob is a lifelong resident of Thurston County, and the CEO of Nisqually Enterprises.

He thinks that the Port should help all of Thurston County, not just Olympia. He thinks that the Port should help small businesses grow, and bring local jobs to our area.

He has balanced budgets in his work, he works with hundreds of employees, and he cares about the environment.

Bob understands Port operations, and how to turn it around to make a profit, instead of merely feeding off of taxpayer money.

Bob has his master’s degree, and 30 years of hands-on experience.

He has worked with large construction projects, and small labor intensive restorations.

He has seen projects that help our local communities grow and thrive, and he has seen difficult projects brought into the community by large out-of-state corporations.

He loves Thurston County and hopes to bring more economic stability for all families!

Contact Bob at bobiforolyport@gmail.com with any questions. Go to his website at https://bobiyallolyport.com/ for his campaign.

We hope to get Bob Iyall elected to serve all the people of Thurston County!

The Port needs Joel Hansen’s experience

It’s election season again and our ballots should be arriving in the mail shortly. I hope you will join me in voting for Joel Hansen for Port of Olympia Commissioner. I know he has the experience that will allow him to hit the ground running and I also believe he has a vision that prioritizes job growth, being a good environmental steward and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Port.

Joel is a third-generation Eagle Scout who brings considerable knowledge and experience from participating on advisory groups, such as the Port of Olympia Citizens Advisory Committee, the Tumwater Planning Commission, and many others over the years. He knows how the Port works and what its mission is.

For his day job, Joel is a solar energy project developer who works on solar panel installation projects ranging in size from residential installations to large public utilities. Joel has a great head on his shoulders and really understands that the Port can do a lot more to grow its business lines and attract green energy jobs that pay a living wage to Thurston County. He also understands that the Port must promote diversity, equity, and inclusion so that all who live in Thurston County can have a say in and prosper from the Port.

Check out Joel’s campaign website, www.VoteJoel.org, for more information and join me in voting for Joel Hansen for Port of Olympia Commissioner by Nov. 2.
