Unfair to blame US budget problems on the elderly
I am appalled by the opinion column by Robert J. Samuelson from The Washington Post. He is claiming that the federal government is becoming an agent for taking care of the elderly and everything else is being crowded out.
Excuse me, we and our employers paid into our Social Security for our senior years. This money is separate from the budget, or it is supposed to be. The elderly are not taking anything from other programs.
Corporate welfare and tax breaks for corporations that send their business overseas is what is taking from everything else.
