I was born in Olympia 78 years ago. The military has been a part of my life. I read with amusement all the articles condemning the military for disturbing our peace and quiet, for flying helicopters and cargo planes in the vicinity of our homes.
How do you think we got to have this peace and quiet we cherish? It is through the protection given us by the military — that’s who. We don’t have dictators, we have the right to elect those who we hope will do the job of acting on our behalf. That goes from the school districts right up to the Congress and the president of the United States of America.
Now you understand why we are a free nation. Don’t forget to vote! It is your right to do so.
