City doesn’t seem to care about safety of sidewalk
Does the Olympia City Council care how safe you are? I live in the subdivision of Wellington West 2, 3 & 4. Our sidewalks are a hazard to anyone that uses them for any reason.
I have contacted the city for some kind of repair action at least three times before someone trips and ends up with a broken hip, skull fracture, broken arm, etc. Their response was “we don’t have any money for that.”
Do they have money to pay a million after a lawsuit? I called the third time with a list of addresses of seriously raised sidewalks that were raised beyond one inch; they came to my address and painted a strip at the raised joint with red paint and drove away. The walks have gotten much worse since then.
Whey did they insist on planting such large trees so close to the sidewalk if they have no way to take care of them? I won’t even mention all the other major repairs all over the city that are needing repairs that are not getting done because of no money. Now they are looking for millions for another park.
