Earth-like planets have surely existed for eons

Earth-like planets among the billions of stars and planets in our universe? Anyone with a kernel of intelligence knows they have always existed, yet may never be contacted, at least not over the course of several human lifetimes. Should contact ever be established and if “life” is found, let’s hope we aren’t represented by the church, especially if the church emissary tells them their sun revolves around their planet or that a child, conceived by a virgin, will save them from some kind of imaginary hell, which in all likelihood would our be arrival.
