Long sessions were not a victory for most of us
I most certainly disagree with the Editorial Board in the July 29 paper praising Gov. Inslee and applauding his “victory lap.” Possibly he could have a victory lap if he assisted in getting the legislators out of town after the first session. But no, we get three special sessions, and hundreds of thousands of dollars extra, to get their work done. How is that a victory?
Past governors have sent this “body of leaders” home after a session and kept the actual players who could make decisions here in Olympia. I can see no reason for all those people hanging around, collecting their money, and acting like children in a tug-of-war. This was definitely not a victory for most of us!
