Port candidate seems dismissive to boaters
I met E.J. Zita, candidate for Olympia Port Commissioner. It is not clear why she won.
After speaking with her, the mystery is greater. She opposes a fuel dock at the Port Marina. The port has had numerous studies and hired WSU to tackle this. Their conclusion: “… the port has found: 1. There is a strong demand for a marine fuel dock in Budd Inlet. 2. The port’s fuel dock project is financially viable and will pay for itself. 3. The port’s fuel dock will meet the highest level of safety and environmental standards.”
She claimed that the project is not economic.
Really? If that is the case, why did the port staff and consultant come up with the above recommendation. While I was talking to her, she said: “It’s obvious you are a boater.” The tone she used was derisive and insulting. Ms. Zita should not be elected. Her total lack of analysis and unbending opinion (with nothing to back it up) clearly shows that she is not worthy of holding any public office. Her ideas are as dumb as a brick … but that’s an insult to the brick.
