If you demand respect, you must show it
The protesters that crashed the Bernie Sanders event at Westlake Park in Seattle are a disgrace to their movement.
Sure, they have a right to speak on the serious matter of black lives, but they acted like complete bullies as they forced themselves onstage and then showed intense disrespect for all others gathered there. They even accused the crowd of being white racists.
Really? A crowd of Bernie Sanders supporters in Seattle - a bastion of liberal progressivism - are a bunch of white racists for not being pleased that someone is walking all over their constitutional right to hear a candidate speak?
The protesters demanded to be heard, but would not let others speak. They shut down the Sanders rally. Bernie Sanders is the candidate that is most likely to support their cause, so why show such contempt for him and his supporters?
Two wrongs don’t make a right. If you demand respect, then you must show some as well by not acting like only black lives matter and labeling everyone else as racist.
