Summit Towing: signage complaint was inaccurate

In regards to Ms. Houx's Aug. 20 letter to the editor regarding her car being towed in downtown Olympia, her account of the situation is incorrect. There is signage all around the parking lot, and is posted in required areas. Her vehicle was parked there for longer than the 10 minutes that she says, considering we had time to acquire the signed authorization to tow it. And considering that Music in the Park has never been only 10 minutes long, that can not be accurate.

Regardless any private lot owner can have an illegally parked vehicle towed off their lot. Additionally, the parking spot that she stole was leased and that lot is no longer a Department of Personnel lot.

Her harmful remarks do not reflect our company's policies, standards or morals. We wish her the best of luck in finding her future parking and recommend everyone avoid a towing bill by paying for parking in one of the numerous lots or metered spaces that the city has graciously provided.
