Millions of U.S. citizens cannot vote
So, I’ve seen a lot of political nonsense the last few years about guns, constitutional rights, religion, abortion, etc. Rarely do people have a rational stance on it. It’s generally some emotionally charged, logic-free argument with a total lack of compromise.
However, while you sit there and argue your points, are you aware that over 4.5 million U.S. citizens and nationals can’t even vote? Before you say, “well that’s only 1.5 percent of the population, who cares?” it is completely unacceptable to be able to die for your country, pay taxes and live under the rules of a nation, without proper representation. So say the founders of this country that people like to quote about freedom, representation, etc., when it so fits their agenda.
I have been guilty of ignoring it for a few years. I am writing to support the territories and Washington, D.C., getting the same voting rights as other citizens.
