South Bay fire district needs more commissioners

We are citizens in the South Bay 8 Fire District, which recently merged with North Olympia 7 Fire District. There will be a proposition on the ballot this November asking voters to consider increasing the number of fire commissioners from three to five.

We want this to happen as our fire district is larger now and it makes sense to have five commissioners representing the over 13,000 citizens. It makes sense for our family's safety and well being to have five commissioners familiar with what is happening with our fire district.

We want the opportunity for citizen involvement and approval of this proposition would allow for two more commissioners. More importantly, this means more neighborhoods could be involved and more kids could learn about our fire district. Seriously, wouldn't you rather have five commissioners making decisions rather than just three? Think about what's best for your family and you'll reach the right decision.
