School boundary changes don't make a lot of sense
As I review the proposed school-boundary changes and listen to the rationale by North Thurston School district officials, I find myself dismayed, confused, and frustrated.
When I look at the map of the proposed changes, I see multiple instances where students will now have to be bused instead of walking to their school that may literally be across the street (see Chinook Middle School boundary at 37th and College).
Yet the district changed the bus schedules several years ago to save money. Doesn't make sense. Tearing away the fabric of neighborhoods and their schools is bad business! I hope the district will reconsider many of the these changes.
