Bloomberg groups overstate success on gun control gains

It’s not surprising to hear Michael Bloomberg-funded groups like Moms Demand Action and Everytown claim to be winning the gun debate. They don’t stick to the facts when pushing their anti-gun agenda so why stick to the facts when touting their success? Because the truth hurts.

The truth is Americans support the Second Amendment and their constitutional right to self-protection. Poll after poll shows the majority of Americans don’t want more gun control. We’re not talking about the homemade variety of surveys and studies the anti-gunners concoct to shamelessly push out as fact; we’re talking about Gallup, Pew, and CNN.

The truth is 33 governors have signed 93 NRA-backed bills into law this year. What kind of success have the winning gun control advocates enjoyed? How about three governors signing six anti-gun bills into law.

And the truth is that gun ownership is at an all-time high. If you believe Bloomberg’s well-funded gun control advocates this would be a problem, but the truth is violent crime has dropped 50 percent in the last 20 years.

That leaves you with a choice. You can either believe the distortions and lies of the gun control crowd or you can believe the truth.
