Rekdal letter was diversion from what is really spooky

Just in time for Halloween (and the ballot drop) Chris Reykdal weaves a weird and spooky tale of “operatives” and nefarious shadowy politics. Probably not his finest moment and a very odd move for someone running for state office.

I think what he’s trying to divert attention from is the fact that both Jerry Farmer (port) and Jessica Bateman (Olympia council) have received pretty significant contributions from the industries that have financial interests in the land use decisions that both will preside over if elected (or in other words - the opposite of “balanced).

Sure us little people don’t have the power of state or city elected office behind us to help get our friends elected but we can look at where a candidate’s money comes from and weigh our choices. We don’t have to be bullied.

That’s not scare story – it’s not name calling or dirty politics - it’s a quick search on the state Public Disclosure Commission website.
