Letter on Ben Carson did not consider whole quote

On Oct. 11 the print copy of The Olympian had a letter critical of Dr. Ben Carson for saying that he did not want a Muslim in the White House. The letter writer obviously did not read the whole quote by Carson!

Carson said that if a Muslim could not swear allegiance to the U.S. Constitution over sharia law espoused in the Muslim holy book, the Quran and the writings of the prophet, he could not vote or support that person!

Groups of Muslims in local communities have petitioned the local and state governments to allow sharia law to be enforced on their fellow Muslims, superseding any American local, state or federal law. These Muslims believe that sharia law and the Quran should be the only law for all people on this planet!

If a Muslim can put his religion and sharia law aside and swear allegiance to the Constitution, they are more then welcome to run for a political office!
