Jessica Bateman is best choice for Olympia council
I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Jessica Bateman for Olympia City Council. Jessica is a solutions-oriented leader who can bring people together with a positive and proactive vision for Olympia.
As the hub of the South Sound region, Olympia needs the proven leadership that Jessica has demonstrated in her work on Olympia’s Planning Commission, as a board member for the nonprofit GRuB, and in her position as the director of community impact for United Way of Thurston County.
The ways Jessica has been involved in our community since her graduation from Evergreen – with a degree in environmental studies and a masters in public administration – show: her deep understanding of the critical issues we are facing (whether environmental, housing, or economic development-related, just to name a few); her passion to contend with challenges; and her knowledge of positive ways to contribute to the place she has chosen as her home.
At this critical juncture in Olympia’s history, we stand to benefit from Jessica’s understanding of the ways that our growth in years to come can be harnessed to enhance our already creative, dynamic, and compassionate community.
