Business owner favors Selby as Olympia mayor

I am writing in support of Cheryl Selby for Olympia mayor. I am co-owner of a small business based in Tumwater and have lived in Olympia for over 20 years.

I have known Cheryl for 17 years. During this time she has impressed me with her candor, practicality, and her commitment to making Olympia a better place. I understand what it’s like to try to grow a business during difficult economic times and seeing Cheryl improve her store and help it to thrive is impressive. Seeing how Vivala has been run over the years assures me that she has the right knowledge to make the right decisions for Olympia.

In the year and half or so that Cheryl has been on City Council she has been a part of some important choices for Olympia. As a businesswoman she is sensitive to economic impact of her decisions - her work to create a sustainable budget while on the council Finance Committee reflects her practical commitment to sound financing for the city. Cheryl was also a strong advocate for the hiring of Olympia’s new economic development director, who is helping Olympia attract new businesses; she knows a strong economy will lead to a stronger community.

Cheryl Selby is the best candidate for mayor; please join me in supporting her in the November election.
