Initiative to protectendangeredspecies initiative
How can anyone vote no regarding trafficking of endangered animal species, or is it just an feel good initiative? We have federal laws already on the books that cover this crime and some say this is a poorly written initiative.
What about those people who obtained such species long before they were listed endangered under the treaty signed in 1970. It appears if they try to sell any of the species covered under the law they are subject to fines of $2,000 or $4,000.
Some people including antique dealers, may have a greater amount of money involved; what are they supposed to do?
This law will administered by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, who will undoubtedly have to hire a number of employees the enforce the law. All regulations cost you, the taxpayer.
