Kudos to Olympia police on Halloween

As I said in a letter to the Olympia police chief: On Halloween night my daughter, her husband and their three children were “treat or treating” in the South Capitol neighborhood. One of the three children, in his excitement, took off without us and got lost.

Fortunately for us the police were patrolling the neighborhood, found my grandson and we were reunited. We did not get the names of the officers, but we would like to highly commend them for their work. We appreciate their vigilance and promptness in finding our 8-year-old.

The officers even gave each of our children candy and a sticker. The 4-year-old was particularly happy to show off his “police uniform” (costume) to the officers and his “real whistle” that was part of his costume.

A very big thank you to the police department and to the two officers for your work on Halloween night. Call me a grateful grandfather.
