If debate moderators were mean spirited, so was GOP
The Oct. 28 Republican debate generated complaints from RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and the candidates. Priebus said in a letter to CNBC that “CNBC’s moderators’ engaged in a series of ‘gotcha’ questions, petty and mean spirited in tone and designed to embarrass our candidates.”
The moderators, more than likely, were influenced by the Republican lead - on investigative committees looking at Hillary Clinton and Benghazi, and at Cecile Richards and Planned Parenthood. Their questions are textbook examples of a series of “gotcha,” petty and mean spirited questions designed to embarrass. And the committees asked and re-asked their questions for 11 hours and 5 hours. So it goes.
