Louisiana child shootingshows racism much alive

I write in response to the Nov. 18 letter questioning the lack of outrage over the killing of a 6-year-old boy in Louisiana.

The muted response is not because white lives don’t matter; the muted response is because both officers involved have been arrested and charged with murder.

If anything this incident reinforces the case that racism still exists in the U.S. When a white officer shoots a black boy (Tamir Rice in Cleveland), nothing happens. When a black officer shoots a white boy he is immediately arrested and charged.
