Time to go take lookat the Isthmus - wow!

I was out of town for about a week. When I left, the old Health Department building was about half down. When I returned, and came into downtown from the west, around the round-about on Fourth Avenue, I almost stopped in traffic.

Wow!! What a difference!! No wonder the community fought against the proposed high rises there and again signed the initiative petitions to do a feasibility study for a park there.

It is a spectacular setting with those two buildings down and that new open space. Ideas just keep flowing as to what that park can look like, right next to the state’s Heritage Park.

It would be a shame to let that spectacular space be re-developed with buildings, again enclosing that great open space! Well done, citizens of Olympia!!
