Most Americans are immigrants

Yes, all in our country, with the exception of the First Nations People, are immigrants.

What sort of immigrants are we that deny sanctuary and freedom , the very sanctuary that we sought , to others that are trying to escape horrible war and poverty where they live . With the exception of several outspoken politicians , who among us would like to stand up and say “We have ours so to hell with you !! Come on folks show a little civilized values .

Many years ago it was written by a well known poet .

“ These strangers , in a foreign world ,

Protection asked of me-

Befriend them, lest Yourself in Heaven

Be found a refugee-”

Let’s get with a program of trust and friendship which seems to be so easy to talk about but so difficult to live up to !!!
