Save the environment, don't use plastic

The reason I'm writing this article is to inform you about what is going wrong in our environment and how you can help.

The problem I will be focusing on today is plastic

One of the worst problems in our society is plastic! I bet a lot of you use plastic bottles, bags, and silverware.Very little plastic is actually ever recycled.

EPA estimated in 2009, only 31 percent of plastic water bottles get recycled or 69 percent do not! In more understanding terms every three plastic products only one is recycled!

Now where might you ask where is the other two? Well, in the ocean! There is some much plastic in the water that there is an floating island of it where all the currents meet. All the island does is just float around the ocean. It is also known as the garbage island!

Did you know that plastic takes at least 1000 years to decompose! How can you help? Not using plastic is one of the best ways you can help. Or if all you can do is useless that great any less usage of plastic is going to shrink that island. Thanks for helping the environment.
