Know rules for school buses
I travel on Capital Boulevard regularly and witness vehicles stopping for a oncoming school bus with lights flashing and stop sign out to load and unload students.
This used to be the law but years ago it was changed. The Washington drivers guide now says “you are not required to stop for a school bus with red lights flashing when the stopped bus is traveling in the opposite direction and the roadway has three or more marked lanes”.
This is not a dangerous action since the bus can not load or unload students from the far side of the street.
