COP21, coal exports at odds
Tim Sheldon believes that we should speed up permits for fossil fuel export docks. The construction of the export docks would likely create or extend some jobs in construction and in the export market, but these are not the jobs that we need to meet the goals of the COP21 global warming agreement.
It's time to leave the fossil fuels in the ground and create jobs in the green energy industry. Solar, wind, and other sustainable energy makes sense for our children, grandchildren and all the living things on the planet that are threatened by climate change. This is the task of our generation. The time is now.
It is time for everyone to wake up and take responsibility for the future that we create with the decisions we make today. Generations to come will look back and thank us if we make smart decisions today. Investment in fossil fuel export infrastructure is not a smart decision.
