Letters to the Editor

We all have safe place to live, thanks to the Constitution

In response to the Dec. 13 letter from Ilene James of Lacey.

Perhaps Ms. James has not had the pleasure of meeting a follower of Islam. More likely, she is simply unaware that she has indeed met Muslims.

Our country is full of people of all religions who do not feel the need to introduce themselves by religious identification. I have quite a few close family members who are Muslim and all are American citizens. One nephew, born in Dallas, joined the U.S. Army and served as an interpreter in Afghanistan. Our entire family is very proud of his service.

By the way, I don't have any relatives, Muslim or Christian, who would be considered the scofflaw, murderous whiners Ms. James describes in her letter. Her letter is an insult to my family, and to all of us who believe in the Constitution of the United States.
