Appreciative note brings holiday cheer
Occasionally during the holiday season spontaneous acts of love and kindness occur. We have been putting up Christmas lights on our house now for 30-plus years. Occasionally we get acknowledgment as a house to see in the newspaper. This year went above and beyond. We found a note on our front porch with a basket of candy. If I could write Maia a letter back I would say:
Dear Maia:
Thank you for the very kind note you sent to my wife and I. If we made your Christmas special for you, your note to us made our Christmas extremely special. Your hand drawn card was extraordinary. My wife and I will save it forever. It will go on our refrigerator held in place with a magnet. If you are ever in our neighborhood again to view the lights I would very much appreciate it if you would ring our door bell so we could meet you. The time and effort you took to let us know our house is “awesome” and touched our hearts.
Maia, may Santa bring you the best of all your Christmases.
Very Truly Yours, Steve and Sue Foster
Acts like the above make the holiday season so much better.
