Tim Eyman, Washington's Don Quixote

Tim Eyman continues his Don Quixote-like quest to – in the words of his hero Grover Norquist – make government small enough to drown it in a bathtub.

This most recent court decision will have little deterrence on his efforts as he is a clever man with many supporters who will continue to fund his efforts.

The following quote sums up the challenge the sane and rational people of Washington face.

“What can you do ... against the lunatic who is more intelligent than yourself, who gives your arguments a fair hearing and then simply persists in his lunacy?” – George Orwell.

What we can do is continue to use our power of the ballot and the courts to counter the efforts of the small government crowd.
