Charter schools need subscription drives
I just saw The Olympian article about the state Senate passing the funding for charter schools without addressing the larger issue of how these schools are to be administered.
Simply stated, I believe that charter schools are private schools that seek public funding. The way to fund these schools is to hold a subscription drive like public radio and have those who actually support the charter school concept fund them and leave the rest of us in peace.
I do not know if there is any legislation needed to enable this, but that is what needs to be passed and signed.
