Legislature shouldstick to doing its job

Time to stop playing politics and do your job, Legislature. The Senate Republicans have lost control and are more about regaining it than doing their jobs.

An error happened at the Department of Corrections, many years ago, yet the Senate sharks can't seem to acknowledge that. DOC lost a great leader when Dan Pacholke resigned rather than continue to take the brunt of the Senate criticism. Pacholke was taking swift and certain actions not only to rectify the mistake, but to prevent future errors.

Mistakes happen in any large agency. How they are responded to, and what measures are put in place to prevent a recurrence is the mark of true leadership. What have legislators done in the face of their huge mistake – the McCleary decision? NOTHING!

They have not solved the problem, they have not fully funded education, they have not developed an action plan to solve the problem. Instead, they quietly agree to "fix" it next year, while those $100,000 per day fines continue to build up.

Instead, they see that drop of blood in the water and start the political feeding frenzy over DOC's mistake to distract from their own failure.

It’s all about election year rhetoric, finishing the session on time (without finishing their paramount duty), so they can get back to fund raising and posturing.

Yes, crimes were committed by people who released early. How many crimes will be attributed to children who weren't properly educated?

Do your job, Legislature!
