Local snail mail uses slower snails

On Feb. 10 I mailed Valentines to my granddaughters in Vermont and Oregon. The next day I mailed Valentines to my grandchildren in Olympia.

Only the Valentine sent to Vermont arrived on Saturday in time for Valentine's Day.

How disappointing that it takes longer for mail to reach Oregon and Olympia than it does to send one across the country.
