Rep. Hunt should resign over actions

As a resident of Thurston County, I strongly object to state Rep. Sam Hunt's dishonorable actions in his last minute inclusion of Thurston County in House Bill 2610 relating to Spokane. It was without notice or consultation given to those who will be directly affected, i.e,. the residents of Thurston County.

To quote Rep. J.T. Wilcox, "This is above and beyond anything we have witnessed in Olympia."

In Hunt's move to change Thurston County’s form of government Hunt has shown an appalling contempt for the people and democracy (despite being a member of a party bearing such a name). He has demonstrated that power is his first priority, that he is willing to circumvent the people’s voice and enforce the type of government he wants. He has lowered the standards of his office and therefore is not worthy of it.

The people of Washington deserve better, and Hunt should resign. If he does not, he should be forced to do so. I trust that the people will take his disrespect for them and his office into consideration at the next election and vote accordingly.
