Homeless people are leaving trash in Olympia

The homeless situation has gotten out of control in Olympia. I have lived in Olympia for over 20 years and never seen anything like this.

Homelessness is not a crime. Littering is a crime. Under most of the freeway bridges in Olympia, huge piles of trash spill down the hills.

Wherever the homeless are camping there is trash strewn all over. Garbage everywhere!

They finally cleared out and cleaned up the huge mess under the Pacific Avenue underpass and in the adjoining wooded area. Imagine all the human feces the workers probably had to deal with.

Many people do not feel that Olympia is safe anymore, especially after the stabbing that happened on the bike path in east Olympia.

A few hundred people should not be allowed to destroy the character of a town. The city should not allow such squalor to exist on city property. The individuals responsible for the trash need to dealt with.

Is this the kind of environment we want for our children? Might be time to look for greener pastures.
