Reader doubts carbon tax can cut emissions

Whose brainchild is this ridiculous carbon tax? I can't imagine anyone being so absolutely stupid enough to try and sell this to an educated populace!

Yes, educated enough to know that what you're selling is pure hogwash! The idea is, if the state taxes fossil fuels, we're going to reduce the greenhouse gases produced from burning those fuels.

If you think or anybody thinks that we are going use our automobiles any less, stop heating our homes with natural gas or propane, have less 18 wheelers on the road, or trains are going to stop burning diesel fuel, you're goofier that I thought you were.

This is just another ploy to increase taxes by a Legislature that is well overdue to be replaced!
