Drop 'Christian' from organization's name
One would assume the YMCA subscribes to biblical values, as indicated by its very name. The standard for Judaic-Christian behavior, the Bible, clearly says (Deuteronomy 22:5) that men and women should not wear each others’ clothing, much less alter their bodies to create an appearance of the opposite sex.
Since this prohibition has become sheer nonsense to society, perhaps the issue can be otherwise reasoned. Jesus came to serve and humbled himself. He did not demand his rights, offending the sensibilities of others. His apostle Paul said much the same, that he had “become all things to all men” in order to not offend others.
You be the judge: Do the words of Jesus and Paul fit the actions of the transgender undressing in the YMCA, or are their demands pure self-centeredness?
Society in the last half century has been trying to put Christianity out of sight. This is one time I would agree. The YMCA should remove the word “Christian” from its name.
